On 22 June 2021, the Global Forest Observation Initiative (GFOI) and the World Bank launched OpenMRV, an open-source repository for user-friendly measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) support resources and instructional materials. Collect Earth Online (CEO) is featured as a key resource on OpenMRV.
Users of Collect Earth Online (CEO) are taking advantage of a CEO feature called the Geo-Dash Degradation Tool that allows them to monitor forest degradation.
To better understand and serve users, the creators of Collect Earth Online issued a survey in March 2021. Input was collected from more than 110 CEO users working for NGOs and government agencies in 58 countries. The survey revealed that CEO has attracted a global community of users who rely on the platform to drive high-impact work monitoring deforestation and other types of land use change.
Collect Earth Online is excited to share our Spring 2021 updates, including additional quality control tools, new imagery sources, and backend improvements.
The Collect Earth Online team is excited to highlight a number of new features that we have launched, based on feedback from our community of users, to make it even easier for you to monitor changes in land use and land cover.
